Recruitment Process

CENTRALISED POLICIES

The formal recruitment process for hiring migrant workers is determined by the policies set by Immigration Department of Malaysia that varies from time to time depending on the needs of the human resources need. The recruitment process must be made through Foreign Workers Centralized Management System [FWCMS]. Basically, the process involves the following:

  • Advertise the job vacancy in the local media.
  • Apply for approval from the Jabatan Tenaga Kerja to employ foreign labour.
  • Apply for foreign worker quota approval from the Ministry Home Affairs.
  • Payment of levy and other statutory payments.
  • Deposition of the relevant embassies.
  • Liaise with overseas manpower counterparts/agents for the recruitment.
  • Profiling and interview of the workers by the employer or agent for the most suitable talent
  • Apply to the Immigration Department for Visa with Reference (VDR) approval.
  • Registration VDR with Malaysian Embassies for issuance of entry visa by the Malaysian Attaches Offices: their respective source countries.
  • Arrival of worker and placement.
  • Medical check-up through FOMEMA.
  • Apply for visa and work permit.
  • Documents required I from the employer in support of the foreign manpower requirement:
  • i. Demand letters from prospective employers that states the number of workers required, salary, hours of employment, accommodation, food and other facilities provided.

  • ii. Company registration and audited accounts of the companies.
